Execs create culture of health in workplace while raise awareness and money towards cancer prevention
STUART, FL. April 7, 2022 - For the third year in a row, Linical will be teaming up with the American Cancer Society in the fight against cancer. Starting on April 7th, Linical will be participating in the American Cancer Society’s CEOs Against Cancer® and Fit2BeCancerFree® program, a three week step-tracking fitness and fundraising challenge.
The challenge kicks off with the CEOs Against Cancer® competition, where CEOs and executives around the country will step up at work, inspiring thousands of colleagues to get active in the fight against cancer. From there, the Fit2BeCancerFree® program continues with a three week employee competition where Linical team members will complete a 70 mile virtual race and pledge to raise $5,000 towards cancer research. Participants’ activity will sync via fitness trackers to a live event leaderboard powered by Movespring and hosted on cancer.org. The leaderboard will track results of the top participants and teams throughout the challenge, and the winners will receive bragging rights and national recognition. Additionally, the Linical team will track their progress towards their fundraising goal on their team page.
Fit2BeCancerFree® participants also receive a nutrition and physical activity toolkit that includes tips for incorporating more physical activity into the workday, since staying fit is one of the most impactful ways to reduce the risk of cancer. Participants can modify their daily schedule to include “walking” meetings, taking the stairs and frequent walking breaks throughout the day, while encouraging their employees to do the same.
“As CEOs we play a critical role in partnering with the American Cancer Society to make an impact on the fight against cancer in our communities and across the country. Cancer is a serious health issue which now more than ever needs our attention. I’m looking forward to Team Linical’s participation in the Fit2BeCancerFree challenge. Through a bit of friendly competition, we can motivate employees across our companies to get moving and together we can save more lives from cancer.”
